passion & purpose can be powerful

Intergenerational trauma has been passed on through generations, and it is embedded into the very fabric of most northern First Nation communities. It negatively impacts family structures, child welfare and the ability for citizens to lead healthy, self-sustaining lives within their communities.

Shäwthän Näzhì was launched as a pilot program in the fall of 2020, focusing on intergenerational trauma, which is the root cause of family break-up.

After 18 months of successful pilot programming, we established the Shäwthän Näzhì: Healing With The Land Society to help us invest in broader programming and train more team members.
